IRON MAIDEN Drummer To Attend V.O.X. Showcase In New York City
October 11, 2006IRON MAIDEN drummer Nicko McBrain is expected to attend the October 14 showcase by the New York-based band VOICES OF EXTREME (V.O.X.) at the Snitch club in New York City. The performance starts at 8:30 p.m. sharp.
McBrain — who is VOICES OF EXTREME's co-manager —joined V.O.X. on stage for a rendition of the MAIDEN classic "The Trooper" during their August 13 appearance at the Tweeter Center in Mansfield, MA for the Locobazooka! United We Rock Festival. Check out pictures by Jennifer Simon at this location.
McBrain previously told the Sentinel & Enterprise about the group. "They're just a really strong rock band. They've got great music and great stage presence."
McBrain, who has drummed for IRON MAIDEN since 1983, said that although the music is not identical to his work with the English band, fans will find many of the same traits in V.O.X. that helped IRON MAIDEN sell more than 70 million records worldwide.
"They're like [IRON MAIDEN] in the attitude that they take to their music and to their fans," McBrain told the Sentinel & Enterprise. "The music isn't the same style as MAIDEN, although it has a hard edge to it and a lot of progressive stuff."
